Fast, clean, tough and efficient. We’ve made the XL-6084 and XL-78 to pick rocks faster, and with less dirt in the bucket. They’re tough farm hands that stand up to the rough and tumble world of rock picking and you can depend on them to get your rock picking jobs done quickly and easily.
The XL-6084 has a picking width of five feet while the XL-78 spans seven feet. Choose the rock picker to suit your farm and let Highline’s rock pickers do the rest.
Highline’s rock pickers have a guided reel that makes rock picking more efficient than conventional rock pickers. Large, 8" bogie wheels follow a special track which guide the reel arms parallel to the ground, giving you over one foot of picking action in front of the apron per bat revolution.
Highline’s rock pickers are made to pick rocks and leave soil in the field where it belongs. The guided reel lifts rocks up the near-vertical apron to sweep rocks away while allowing dirt to drop back to the ground. Highline’s rock pickers push less dirt than conventional rock pickers because the guided reel collects and lifts the rocks – instead of relying on the apron to push and collect them.

The XL-6084 dumps rocks 6 feet high while the XL-78 dumps rocks 7 feet – plenty of height if your using a truck or trailer to haul rocks off the field. Because Highline’s rock pickers also dump their loads further back than many pickers, rock piles can be made higher and tighter, and trucks and trailers can be loaded closer to the center. Highline has also increased picking efficiency by using less time running back and forth to rock piles due to the large bucket capacity.
Highline’s rock pickers come with a standard hydraulic reel drive and include a heavy duty, high efficiency parallel drive gearbox. With no chains to worry about breaking or wearing out, the hydraulic reel drive gives long-lasting performance and positive picking action. The reel can be reversed to clean out rock jams and you can make sharp turns, maneuvering better to pick more rocks.
Standard hydraulic swing hitch makes moving from the road to the field even easier. The XL-78 with its full seven-foot picking width, can be transported with only a few feet protruding from the shoulder side of the tractor.
Highline’s rock pickers are built to stand up to the everyday pounding of rock picking. Highline uses an extra-strong, reinforced perimeter frame that also extends across the front of the picker. Highline’s rectangular frame provides a solid foundation for years of maintenance free operation. The frame across the front of the rock picker is positioned high enough to give plenty of clearance for larger rocks while maintaining the overall strength of the frame.
One-piece reel arms, a stress-proof shaft and hard surfaced reel pins ensure maximum strength. The 8" bogie wheels have sealed ball bearings for long life. Hard surfaced, ductile cast apron tines are made to last yet easily replaceable, one wrench and two bolts later the tine is replaced. Hydraulic hoses and cylinders are shielded to prevent rock damage.
